24 Hour Museum
The 24 Hour Museum is the the country's leading "virtual museum", pulling together the best from the UK's cultural sector in one online destination.

In response to a request for help for design and technical expertise from Jane Finnis, the 24 Hour Museum's Development Director, Getfrank took up the challenge of designing the show.me.uk children's portal with relish.

Solution

Working quickly and within the modest budget available to the 24 Hour Museum, Getfrank produced a series of pleasingly subversive templates using a variety of grungy, child-friendly motifs, including "Trax" the friendly show.me.uk robot.

Outcome

Following user evaluation with children and teacher focus groups the first upgrade and redesign of the 24 Hour Museum's kids site "show.me.uk" will have its soft launch on 3rd November 2003 - and the 24 Hour Museum are delighted with their new look children's portal.

"Getfrank responded very quickly to this difficult brief and were able to find creative way to solve the complex issues of laying out a portal site aimed directly at kids. The look and feel of the site is fresh and exciting and finds a way to cover the necessary educational issues without being too formal. The 24HM are extremely impressed with Getfranks professionalism and approachability on this project. We hope to work with them on a new project to create ten city-guides sections on our main site."
