Rail Freight A vital part of the SRA’s 10-year strategic plan for the UK rail network is to encourage and facilitate the transfer of freight from the roads and (back) onto rail. As part of their drive to raise awareness and communication better with their target market, the SRA approached Getfrank in the summer of 2002 to create a site that would extol the virtues and benefits of rail freight without simply showing pictures of dusty coal wagons. |

Solution Getfrank created a site based around two key content areas, The Guide and "What’s New". The Guide, a previously paper-only publication provides, as the name suggests, answers to all of the questions that someone contemplating sending their cargo via rail would want to ask, including finance, logistics, communication and scheduling questions. The "What’s new" content thread comprises stories, articles and features taken from the industry sector, and published via a dedicated CMS by named administrators. The intention here was to keep the site topical and up to date at all times, projecting an industry with a lot to say to potential and existing customers. |
Outcome The Rail Freight site launched in February 2003 to very favourable response from industry insiders and customers alike.
