Rail Industry Information Fourm

The Head of IT at the Strategic Rail Authority, Tony Crisp, approached Getfrank with a problem: how could he ensure that stakeholders from the rail industry, people often spread across the country and with little time to spare, could be brought together to discuss and collaborate on documents and consultations?

Solution

Getfrank proposed a form of collaborative extranet environment, where users can read and contribute to polls and discussions, access a variety of meeting documentation and contribute to work-in-progress documents within an authenticated environment. Frank is used extensively behind the easy-to-use, through-the-web user interface, providing an intuitive CMS with content-publication workflow for named administrators.

Outcome

The RIIF site was well received by its intended users, who now regularly use it to exchange views on industry issues, and to contribute to consultation papers and discussion documents.
